SCHOOL INTERNSHIP PHASE 1- WEEK-10

 DAY 36

04/11/2024-MONDAY

Today marks a significant milestone in my teaching journey. Arriving at school around 9:30 AM, I felt a special sense of purpose, knowing I would complete my 40th lesson plan—a meaningful achievement after weeks of effort and growth during Phase 1 of teaching practice. Each lesson brought new experiences, from the initial excitement and nerves to the joy of engaging students with various teaching aids—simple charts, blackboard explanations, and PowerPoint presentations—to make concepts come alive. Along the way, I learned as much from my students as they learned from me. Their curiosity and enthusiasm encouraged me to adapt and refine my teaching style, helping me connect with their unique ways of learning. This journey taught me the value of patience and persistence. Not every class went as planned, but with each topic, I found ways to make complex ideas accessible and enjoyable. Completing 40 lessons is a fulfilling milestone that reminds me of the importance and impact we have as educators. I ended the day by participating in the midday meal service, sharing in a sense of community, and left school at 3:45 PM with a heart full of gratitude and pride for this cherished experience.

DAY 37

05/11/2024-TUESDAY

Today was a fulfilling day in my teaching journey. I conducted an achievement test for Class 8C, marking an important step in assessing their grasp of recent topics. As I watched the students diligently work through the questions, I felt proud of their engagement and the effort they put into each answer. Their focus and determination were evident, making the process go smoothly and reinforcing the progress we’ve made together. Once the test was complete, I took on the task of evaluating their papers right away. By finishing the grading the same day, I could provide quick, meaningful feedback that would help students understand their strengths and areas to improve. Seeing their responses to the results was rewarding and confirmed the value of timely feedback in their learning process. Before the end of the day, I announced a follow-up test for tomorrow, giving the students a chance to prepare and continue building their confidence. This proactive approach of steady assessment feels like a productive and supportive path, encouraging students to remain engaged and focused. As I reflect on today, I feel grateful for the chance to guide their learning, motivated by their progress and dedication.

DAY 38

06/11/2024-WEDNESDAY

As usual, I reached the school at 9:30 AM. During my scheduled period, I conducted a diagnostic test for the students in 8C. This test was designed to help identify any difficulties they were having with the lessons we've covered, allowing me to better understand and address their needs. There was also an observation session for Keerthy and Manna as part of their optional observation. Dr. Sony Mary Varghese visited to observe their classes. After the National Anthem, we gathered for a discussion, reflecting on the day's experiences and observations.

DAY 39

07/11/2024-THURSDAY

Today, I had to take a break from my usual routine and stay home due to health issues. It felt strange not to be in the classroom, especially when I know how quickly things progress day-to-day. Missing out on teaching and interacting with my students made me realize how much I look forward to those daily moments of connection and discovery with them. Though it was disappointing not to be there, I used the time to rest and recharge, knowing that it's essential to be in good health to give my best to my students. I also took some time to plan for upcoming lessons and reflect on ways to enhance my teaching approach. While I missed the energy of the school environment, today reminded me of the importance of self-care in sustaining a fulfilling and impactful teaching journey.

DAY 40

08/11/2024-FRIDAY

Today marked the last day of Teaching Practice Phase 1 at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mavelikara. As usual, we arrived at the school, and I used my scheduled period to conduct a remedial class for the 8th-grade students, as I had missed it the previous day due to my absence. The school also hosted a Junior Red Cross Quiz Competition, and we assisted in evaluating the answer sheets. While there was some bittersweetness to the last day, it was fulfilling to have completed our 40-day teaching phase successfully. However, since our Teaching Practice Phase 2 begins on November 11 at the same school, it feels more like a continuation than an end, making it easier to look forward to our journey ahead.
